This offer was awarded to the overall best two graduates by Managing Director of HDC Mohamed Saiman, at the closing ceremony held today at HDC head office to mark the successful completion of the program. The two participants will join HDC as Assistant Electricians.

The ceremony was attended by management of HDC and officials from the partners of the program; Technical and Vocational Education Training Authority and Maldives Institute of Technology. Deputy Managing Director Ahmed Bunyamin presented certificates of completion to the participants.

Out of the 7 apprentices that completed the program, three were awarded National Level III certificate today.

HDC Apprenticeship Program was initiated to develop skilled youth in the society in line with Government’s vision of securing a brighter future for the Maldivian youth through the creation of vast socio-economic opportunities. This program focused on achieving HDC’s strategic pillar of developing a consonant community and socio-economic equity within Hulhumale’.

The apprentices were trained under HDC’s direct supervision. This was combined with on-the-job training with related and supplemental instructions given by TVET and MIT so as to give the apprentices first-hand experience in the area.

HDC aims to conduct this program annually and has plans to announce the second Apprenticeship Program sometime this year.
