June 12, 2019 : 5:00 pm

‘Tech Accelerator Program’ was introduced with the aim to bring together a number of technical staff from both Maldives Police Service and Housing Development Corporation, to improve the technological standards of the two parties by identifying and catering to their emerging technological needs. With the guidance and expertise of Professor Hassan Ugail, this program would be a major stepping stone for HDC and MPS towards creating a more accessible, safer and smarter city of Hulhumalé.

The inauguration of the program held today was followed by a one-day workshop, led by Professor Hassan Ugail, where teams from both HDC and MPS were brought together to formulate project ideas to which technological solutions will be developed. Four projects were selected during this workshop, which will then be run for a period of 6 months, during which they would be reviewed and enhanced as needed.

A closing ceremony was held today at Iskandharu Building, Malé, to announce the four projects. The ceremony was attended by the mentor of the program Professor Hassan Ugail, HDC’s Deputy Managing Director Mr. Ahmed Athif, Deputy Chief of Police Mr. Abdul Mannaan Yoosuf, and senior management and staff of both HDC and MPS.
