Hulhumalé Children’s Park Opening Ceremony

A ceremony was held on the 11th of May 2012, to officially open the children’s park at neighborhood 1 of Hulhumalé as part of this year’s Children’s Day celebrations.
While the event was organized by HDC, it was in collaboration with MNDF, Police Services and also the Island’s schools. Stalls were set up in the park area by HDC and its partners, with various activities, making it a fun and an educational experience for the children who attended the event.
Face Painting Senior officials of various institutions at the island attended the event which started at 4: 15 PM with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a short introduction given by the Managing Director of HDC, Mr. Suhail Ahmed. The park was officially opened to the public by the ribbons being cut by 3 students, each from a separate school of Hulhumalé. A lot of families attended the event with their little ones making it a great success. It is our hope that this newly opened park will be used accordingly.
