HDC and Jausa Construction have marked the official start of the construction of Hulhumalé Mini Mall at the groundbreaking ceremony held today.

The Hulhumalé Mini Mall, which is being developed in the neighborhood 2 of Hulhumalé, will provide cafés, restaurants and childcare facilities and will also feature more than 20 retail outlets.

Jausa Construction Private Limited, who successfully won the bid for the construction of the mini mall, has agreed to reduce the construction time to 15 months, from the initial 18 months stated during the bidding.

The ceremony was attended by the Housing Minister, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu as well as other VIPs from the Ministry, HDC and Jausa Construction. During the ceremony, Dr. Muizzu highlighted the importance of the project as a stepping stone for the development of Hulhumalé.

Opportunity to lease commercial space from the Mini Mall will be opened to the public at a later date.
