We have chartered a Toastmasters Club in collaboration with District 102 from Malaysia. To initiate this program, chartered certificate was awarded to our Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Ahmed Athif at the District 102 Annual Conference held on 28th May 2022 at Johor Malaysia. We are proud to be the first SOE to implement a Corporate Toastmasters club in Maldives. 

Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., the organization’s membership exceeds 300,000 in more than 15,800 clubs in 149 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders. 

HDC Toastmasters club is a platform that will provide opportunities to build communication and leadership skills for our employees and help to develop self-confidence and leadership potential within the Hulhumalé community. Toastmasters’ club will deliver the mission of Toastmasters club in line with HDC’s vision, mission while upholding the core-values of the company within Hulhumalé community. 

HDC Toastmasters club consist of 34 charter members. The following members represent the executive committee of the club.  

Toastmasters club aims to provide avenues for members to learn valuable soft skills that will benefit their personal and professional lives, encouraging all members to present impromptu and prepared speeches. It will also educate members on how to plan and manage meetings and assist them to give and receive constructive feedback.  

Toastmasters club will give opportunity to participate in a comprehensive, self-paced education program. Toastmasters’ clubs in the workplace are an effective way to develop, enhance, and retain staff. Additionally, they enable employees with enhanced soft skills, improved meeting facilitations, communications, public speaking and leadership skills, and more confident staff who can think better on their feet.
