A press briefing was held today at HDC building to give information about the sale of land plots in Hulhumalé Phase II.
Speaking at the briefing, Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation Mr Mohamed Saiman said that land and housing are one of the most important policies of the government. He further said that, in addition to social housing units, it is equally important to have mid-luxury housing solutions available to the public.
During this round, a total of 76 plots ranging from 1000-1800 square feet will be sold to the highest bidders from Neighbourhood I of Phase II. Bid is set to start at MVR 3000 per square feet.
These plots are divided into two categories which include 38 beach front plots and 38 beach side plots. Any Maldivian above the age of 18 is eligible to apply for a maximum of two plots from each category.
The official announcement for the sale of land will be made on 18 September 2016.
