The annual Hulhumalé Blood Donation Camp concluded successfully this evening, with 69 volunteer donors.
This year’s annual blood camp organized by Housing Development Corporation was conducted with assistance from Maldivian Blood Services and Aasandha, and held at Hulhumalé Hospital from 9am till 5pm today. The camp was officially opened by HDC’s Director of Planning Ismail Shan Rasheed, at the opening function held at Hulhumalé Hospital in the morning.
Each year’s camp is organized under the World Blood Donor Day theme and hence, the camp followed his year’s theme was “give blood, give now, give often”.
HDC organizes this blood camp every year with the understanding of the great need for blood in the country, for transfusion dependent patients such as those with thalassaemia and other patients in medical emergencies. HDC organizes this event under CSR initiatives, as an important calendar event with the noble aim of helping those in need of blood. As such, this is the fourth annual blood camp organized consequently since 2012.
