Housing Development Corporation, (HDC) hosted the flat awarding ceremony for the first batch of flat recipients under Category-B of the “Veshifahi Malé Program” last night at Neighborhood 3 of Hulhumalé.

In total, 471 of these three roomed apartments are expected to be leased during the first phase, with the apartments being handed over in order of receipt of the down payments. The lease of these apartments is at a cost of MVR 7000/- per month with an additional fee of MVR 350/- for maintenance.

In gracing this ceremony, the president Dr.Waheed, declared development of an additional 1,100 flats in the near future as well as supporting infrastructure and facilities, for an estimated population of 2500 people taking residency in the neighborhood.

The ceremony was attended by the president, Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik, senior officials of the government and HDC, as well as staff of HDC.
