Housing Development Corporation wins the Special Achievement in GIS Award (SAG Award) 2019, held at this year’s Esri User Conference in California, USA.

The award was presented to HDC in recognition of the incredible work done by our GIS development team, to develop an enterprise GIS system in the corporation.

The system will effectively streamline the field work flow, as well as the data collection and land management system within the organization. It has also paved way for the provision of open and freely accessible spatial and non-spatial data to the public as well as institutions, through My Hulhumalé portal.

HDC’s GIS system will also be used to improve the planning process and effectively monitor the progress of the Hulhumalé City, by helping the policy makers with a data driven decision making process. This is a major breakthrough by HDC in their countless efforts to realizing Hulhumalé as the first Smart City in Maldives.
