Housing Development Corporation has commenced it’s first residential survey covering the whole of Hulhumalé this morning.
Named as “Haalu Survey”, the objectives of the survey includes researching community needs and fulfilling HDC’s commitment to residents’ participatory rights in decisions that affect their lives.
Furthermore it will aim to understand community views to incorporate into developing HDC’s strategies and service delivery as well as improve the relationship between the community and HDC. This survey will also obtain a census of accurate information about the Hulhumalé population.
Haalu Survey will ensure that each and every household of Hulhumalé is visited and the survey is expected to continue for three weeks. A total number of 150 enumerators were selected, who were trained prior to the start of the survey. These enumerators will be in official t-shirts with official passes from HDC.
HDC believes that it is very important to involve Hulhumalé citizens when developing the city. HDC’s Director of Municipal Services Ahmed Faathih stated that the concerns and issues raised with regards to their status of living, the services available Hulhumalé, and their expectations and input, will be taken into consideration when creating policies and guidelines for the city development.
The corporation further requests for all citizens to give their maximum support and assistance to their enumerators to complete the survey succesfully, and has created hotline numbers 7423535 and 9762646 for citizens who has any concerns or queries about the survey.
