The month of March has been a one of remarkable exposure and achievement for HDC Maldives & Hulhumalé.
Following a national vision, Hulhumalé is the product of a transformative idea that took shape among the waves. Undertaking the development of Hulhumalé, the Maldives’ biggest urban development project, HDC is working to attain the recognition it deserves by paving way for global investments and international recognition aiding the Maldives in becoming a developed, resilient and sustainable nation.
For the first time, HDC officially welcomed investments from Europe with the successful exhibition of Hulhumalé at MIPIM – the world’s leading property market held in Cannes, France from 13-16 March 2018.
The City of Hulhumalé also competed closely in the MIPIM Awards in the category Best Urban Regeneration Project along with over 200 entries from 55 countries. Hulhumalé was pre-selected to compete for this category given the significant economic and urban regeneration it had brought to the people and community of the Maldives.
Consecutively, HDC competed Hulhumalé – The City of Hope in the Gulf Real Estate Awards in the category Best Real Estate Project (Master Development). The Gulf Real Estate Awards event was held in Dubai, UAE from 20-21 March 2018. HDC was recognized as a Finalist and awarded Second Runners-up in the category. Hulhumalé competed with the best in the region, which includes 170 nominations submitted by 69 companies from Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as well as Egypt and India.
Paving way for economic resilience in a country largely dependent on the success of conventional tourism products, HDC is working to transform the outlook of the Maldives from a sole luxury destination to a diversified prosperous sanctum of economic possibilities.
HDC will continue to build and share the story of Hulhumalé – the city set to become the Maldives’ first global and sustainable conurbation & the City of Hope to this nation.
