The annual Hulhumale’ Blood Donation Camp organized by Housing Development Corporation was successfully held at Ghaazee school from morning till evening yesterday.
The camp was officially opened by Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim. Minister of State for Health Dr Aishath Rameela, Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation Mohamed Saiman, officials from Health Ministry and Maldivian Blood Services, Hulhumale’ Hospital, NSPA, Ghaazee School as well as management team of HDC attended the opening ceremony.
Minister Nazim highlighted the importance of such blood camps as a mean of finding blood for patients in need, especially for thalassaemia patients of Maldives.
Speaking at the ceremony, MD Saiman said that Hulhumale’ Blood Donation Camp is an important calendar event of HDC organized under the corporate social responsibility with the noble aim of helping those in need of blood.
This is the third camp organized by HDC. This year’s camp was organized in partnership with Maldivian Blood Services, Hulhumale’ Hospital and Ghaazee School. The camp was supported by the institutions, corporations and schools operating in Hulhumale’, as well as members of the public. The camp concluded at 6pm with 99 voluntary donors.
