The ‘Hulhumalé Beach Volleyball Championship’ commenced last night with it’s opening ceremony at Hulhumalé Youth Park Beach Volley Court.

The event was attended by our Managing Director Mr. Suhail Ahmed, Member of Parliament of Hulhumalé Mr. Ali Niyaz as guest of honour, Management and staff of Housing Development Corporation, and the teams that played in last night’s matches.

Following the opening ceremony, the championship officially kicked-off with the first of the many matches that will continue for the next four days. The first four matches were played last night.

The matches organized for this championship have been divided to two categories; Men’ division and Women’s division. While there are 13 teams participating from the Men’s division, the Women’s division consists of 11 teams. The Draw Ceremony held last Thursday night determined the teams that will be initially playing against each other.

The Hulhumalé Beach Volleyball Championship was introduced by Housing Development Corporation, in our efforts to provide platforms to showcase the spirit of sportsmanship, for people of all age groups.
