The 1.8 kilometer Road between Hulhumalé and Hulhulé Airport has been officially opened today during a ceremony held at the Malé International Airport. The ceremony was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Member of Parliament for Hulhu Henveiyru, Mr. Moosa Manik.

At the Ceremony agreements were signed and passed among Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL) for commencing Bus Services. Deputy Director of HDC Mr. Suhail Ahmed, Managing Director of MACL Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim and CEO of MTCC Mr. Hussain Amru signed the respective agreements.

To inaugurate this service, Chief Guest and all the other invitees had a bus trip from Airport Road to Hulhumalé. This bus service is named as “Airport Express” and is run by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Development of the road was done under a joint venture between HDC and MACL.
