Hulhumalé ‘Smart Cities’ Project by Ooredoo and UNDP in the Maldives

A ceremony was held at HDC to officially commence the Hulhumalé ‘Smart Cities’ project by Ooredoo and UNDP in the Maldives. This ceremony was attended by Shoko Noda-UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in the Maldives, Najib Khan-CEO of Ooredoo Maldives and Ismail Shan Rasheed- HDC’s Director of Planning.

This project is followed by the new strategic partnership between Ooredoo and UNDP Maldives which aims to strengthen the application of technology in the field of development and promote social innovation. Planned to be conducted in close collaboration with HDC, the ‘Smart Cities’ Project will ensure technological solutions introduced in Hulhumalé, a future smart city remains inclusive and accessible to all its population.
