Maldives correctional Services and HDC jointly breaks the record for most number of trees planted in Maldives.

On the 05th of September 2015, Maldives Correctional Services, in coordination with HDC has broken the Maldivian record for the most number of plants planted.

The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Environment and Energy Hon. Thoriq Ibrahim. Senior officials of Maldives Correctional Services, and a number of its staff as well as the top management and staff of HDC participated in the event. Special invitees, including the Prosecutor General, Hon. Muhthaz Fahumee, Chief Judge of the Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed and a number of parliament members also planted in this historical event.

13000 plants were planted in this event which broke the earlier Maldivian record for most number of trees planted which was 10000 plants. As of today over 19500 trees has been planted in Hulhumalé Phase 2 as the series of greening events continues.
