On 15th January 2015, the President His Excellency Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has inaugurated the reclamation project of Hulhumalé Phase II at an official ceremony held at the Raalhugandu, Malé. The master plan of Hulhumalé Phase II highlighting the key developments was presented at the ceremony in the form of a video presentation.

Mr. Suhail Ahmed, the Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation Ltd. highlighted about the key components of the upcoming Hulhumalé Phase II.

Hon. Ahmed Adeeb, Co-Chair of the Economic & Youth Council and also the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture also spoke during the ceremony.
